Feel free to have fun with colors, textures, and accessories if that's your style! If you're looking for inspiration, our celebration will be full of rich jewel tones—but you're more than welcome to wear something else!
Since we'll be celebrating near a barn, we recommend choosing footwear that's comfortable for grass and dancing the night away.
Children are encouraged to wear a (non-gory) costume. It is Halloween, after all!

Short answer: We were hoping for a mid-to-late fall wedding, and October 31st happened to be the perfect Saturday. We also happen to love a little whimsy!
Long answer: While Halloween is often associated with horror or the macabre, we see an opportunity to celebrate something altogether different!
We believe in a God who is not only beautiful and peace-bringing, but also awe-some in the original sense of the word. He describes Himself as both Lion and Lamb: One who is to be feared and One who comforts us. While a warm cottage reminds us of the comfort and refuge found in Him, a gothic cathedral draws our eyes upward toward His infinite beauty, majesty, and wonder.
So when the perfect fall wedding date happened to land on October 31st, we embraced it! We think there's something fitting about celebrating the God-given gift of marriage on a day often associated with darkness. Just as a candle fills the darkness of a jack-o'-lantern, we hope our wedding points to the light of Christ and the lasting hope, beauty, and joy found in Him alone.
To borrow a sentiment from one of Timmy's favorite Johnny Cash songs, Man in Black:
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day
And tell the world that everything's okay
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
'Til things are brighter, I'm the Man in Black. -

Our ceremony and reception will take place at The Amish Barn at Edge in Hearne, TX, with both indoor and outdoor spaces. Since we’ll be celebrating in late October, we recommend bringing a light layer and choosing footwear that’s comfortable for outdoor surfaces.
